Netherthong Pre-School Welly Walk

Team

We recognise the importance of allowing children to practise and hone their skills and apply their learning in different ways. We get to know the children well and understand the best way to support them.

How our team works

The Trustees of our CIO employ our staffing team, which includes a Pre-school Manager, Deputy Manager, Office Manager and a number of Early Years Practitioners. All our staff hold relevant qualifications in Pre-school or Early Years education to level 3 or above if they are counted within our ratios.

Our keyworker system gives each member of staff particular responsibility for just a few children. Each child in the group has one special adult to relate to, which can make settling into the group much smoother.

In addition, the keyworker is in a position to tailor the group's curriculum to the unique needs of each individual child. The keyworker maintains links with the child's home setting, working with parents through shared record keeping to ensure reaching their full potential.

All staff are given the opportunity to undertake appropriate training to update their skills and underpin their knowledge and understanding of the needs of pre-school children.

Staff engage in lots of dialogue with children, and this helps to promote their communication and language. Staff are skilled in giving children time to process their thoughts and respond to questions, unhurried and in their own time.
